iCoMa: Construction Management
The Problem:
The Yakama Nation Fisheries Klickitat Watershed Enhancement Program coordinates many large scale stream restoration projects on the Klickitat River. Many of these larger projects include multiple small projects ran by outside contractors. Keeping track of equipment and materials being used by multiple entities was difficult, not only for monitoring equipment use, but for budgetary reasons
The Solution:
We developed an iPad application for monitoring all equipment, materials, personnel, activities, and photos at each project site. We split the application into project level monitoring and daily monitoring. As equipment, materials, and personnel arrive or are assigned to a project, the user records their cost. Every day, the user can monitor activities, and develop a daily estimated cost summary with the tap of a button. Likewise, the user can instantly generate an up to date cost summary for each project.
Customer Benefit:
The iCoMa application has helped to keep contractors accountable for equipment costs and project progress. The daily and project cost summaries are extremely helpful because they provide leverage on the project site to keep activities on track. We included a data syncing utility that exports all records and photos into a package that is sent to a master database maintained by Yakama Nation Fisheries. This feature allows the application to be used by multiple contractors without having to pull together multiple databases.

"Our overall experience working with EcoTech Solutions was excellent. Their custom solutions are reasonably priced and tailored to your specific needs. Reid was engaged in the project and was very perceptive to the details and nuisances that field data collection requires. In the end we achieved the product we had hoped for. Without reservation I would recommend EcoTech Solutions to others."
