Southwestern Willow Flycatcher: WHEG
We developed an iPad application for monitoring habitat for the Southwestern Willow Flycatcher before and after restoration actions. The application is built around the Wildlife Habitat Evaluation Guide created by the Natural Resource Conservation Service for the flycatcher. The user creates a benchmark visit when they first collect data at a location. Every visit thereafter is an "after" visit which the NRCS can use to monitor the effectiveness of restoration actions. We also implemented an innovative import utility to allow seamless data transfer between iPads.

Stream Gauge App
We developed an iPad application capable of recording field verification measurements of multiple types of environmental monitoring devices. The user creates a visit every day that they go to the field to collect data. Within that visit, they can individually create a form for each type of gauge they check the status of, verify, or download. We designed the app to function this way in order to greatly reduce the number of blank records and fields that might be created using a different strategy.

iCoMa
We developed an iPad application for monitoring all equipment, materials, personnel, activities, and photos at each project site. We split the application into project level monitoring and daily monitoring. As equipment, materials, and personnel arrive or are assigned to a project, the user records their cost. Every day, the user can monitor activities, and develop a daily estimated cost summary with the tap of a button. Likewise, the user can instantly generate an up to date cost summary for each project.

Alpowa Creek Restoration
We developed a mobile database solution for the iPad to monitor the group's progress at two scales. The user simply monitors their daily restoration activities at each location they visit, and the application provides project wide summaries and cost estimates in real time. When returning to the office, the users simply taps an 'Export' button, and all of their data and photos appear on their computer, ready to be shared and summarized for reports.

Beaver Monitoring
We developed a mobile application with versions for the iPad, iPad mini, and iPhone that allows the user to collect important data validation metrics in the field. This application will be used as part of a citizen science project where volunteers from around the state will collect the data for the group at USU. The version shown here is the 'Lite' version, and requires very simple measurements and field observations. A full version is available to trained volunteers that expects the user to collect much more data. Once the volunteer has WiFi or cellular signal, they can hit an "Upload" button that sends the data directly to a server that the researchers at USU maintain.
